Calendar Geese

In July 2025, the seed was planted to collate a community calendar featuring the fabulous Geese  of March.  Local resident Chrissie Fadipe volunteered to coordinate the charity calendar. A local competition was held to find everyone’s favourite photos of the geese. The plans caught the attention of BBC Radio Cambridgeshire with regular coverage. A local news report for ITV Anglia ended up on ITV National News bringing our joyful gaggle of geese to millions of viewers.  A crazy roller coaster of coverage followed resulting in interest from all over the world. The Calendar went on sale in October and went onto raise £5,000 for Sally’s Duck Rescue, Wisbech and The Waterfowl Sanctuary, Godmanchester.

After the success of the charity calendar, the demand for Goose fundraising merchandise was in full swing. Locals asked for cards, keyrings, magnets, tea towels to be created using our photogenic geese.

Funds raised from merchandise has gone onto to fund a mixture of projects including designing more creative merchandise, local competitions, event stalls and further donations to the two river bird charities chosen by the community. Geese of March had officially become a full time community support network of volunteers working together through a shared love of the geese and pride in March town.
